Rain and freezing rain hitting New Brunswick
New Brunswick is in for a good soaking today.
Environment Canada has issued freezing rain and rainfall warnings across the province.
The heavy rain is expected to bring up to 40mm in some areas, which raises a concern for flooding as it's combined with melting snow runoff, flashfloods and hydroplaning is possible as well.
The freezing rain will change to rain later this morning or this afternoon and end this evening.
Schools in the Edmundston area closed today due to the poor weather and road conditions.
This weather is a result of the same system that left southern and central Ontario with a big mess to clean up after 3 days of freezing rain, sleet, rain and high winds.
Tens of thousands are still without power this morning.
Hundreds of flights were cancelled and affected travel for Maritimers, but flights are running on time out of Fredericton this morning.
