RCMP identify body of kayaker, rule out foul play in his death

RCMP say foul play has been ruled out in the death of a kayaker whose body was found in the waters near The Wolves, a group of islands between Blacks Harbour and Grand Manan.

They say the investigation has shown he drowned.

Police say they've also confirmed his identity as a 33-year-old man from Florida.

RCMP received a report that a body and a kayak had been located and brought on board a boat belonging to Cooke Aquaculture around 7 a.m. on Friday.

The body was later turned over to police and the Corner at the Blacks Harbour wharf.
