RCMP probe vandalism at historic one-room school house

Mounties are investigating a case of vandalism at what's believed to be New Brunswick's oldest one-room school house.

Photos posted on social media show vulgar graffiti – most of it directed at police officers – covering the Cedar Hill School House in Lower Woodstock.

The RCMP tell CTV Atlantic they believe it happened sometime overnight Saturday night or early Sunday.

Police are calling the incident a property crime and are asking for the public's help.

Officers have done neighbourhood checks in the area, but have no suspects at this time.

Built in 1872, Woodstock Tourism says the Cedar Hill School House is the oldest one-room school house in New Brunswick.

Anyone with information is asked to call the RCMP or Crime Stoppers.
