RCMP release photo of hit and run suspect
Mounties have released a photo of a man they believe was involved in a hit and run in western New Brunswick over a month ago.
Police say the incident happened in the eastbound lanes of the Trans-Canada Highway near Meductic around 4:20 p.m. on Feb. 4.
They say a dark blue, extended cab pickup truck was entering the highway via the on-ramp and struck a transport truck travelling the same direction.
Both vehicles were extensively damaged, and police say the driver of the pickup fled the scene continuing eastbound.
About 40 minutes later, police say the suspect is believed to have stopped at the Irving Big Stop in Lincoln, where they obtained video footage of him and the vehicle.
The suspect is described as Caucasian, about 6'0" tall with dark facial hair.
Police say the truck is believed to have had a Saskatchewan licence plate, and likely sustained significant damage around the driver's side front bumper.
Anyone with information is being asked to contact the Woodstock RCMP at (506) 325-3000 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477).
