Removal dates for ice-fishing shelters in New Brunswick announced
The New Brunswick government is reminding ice-fishers that shelters will soon have to be removed from all provincial waterways.
The shelters and associated materials on lakes, rivers, and coastal waters must be removed in the southern part of New Brunswick on Saturday and in the northern part of the province by March 31st.
Government says ice-fishers are encouraged to monitor the weather and remove any structures before they become an environmental hazard when the waterways thaw.
The order to remove the shelters falls under the Water Quality Regulation of the Clean Environment Act.
