Rotating postal strikes come to Fredericton

Canada Post workers in Fredericton/Oromocto are on strike Wednesday.

Lisa Moreau, First Vice President of CUP-W Fredericton Oromocto Local, says approximately 80 workers are joining national rotating strike action this morning.

She says her members are overburdened by Canada Post, and suffer labour related injuries at a rate five times that of other federal sector employees.

Both CUP-W Urban and Rural and Suburban Mail Carrier bargaining units are taking part in the strike action.

Workers will be on the picket lines for at least 24 hours, from 6 a.m. this morning, to 6 a.m. on Thursday morning.
