**Updated** Saint John Police say search for missing man scaled back

The Saint John Police Force says, as of last night, the formal search for a missing 54-year-old man has been scaled down.  

Police say the search has produced negative results and there has been no information indicating the whereabouts of Peter Hoellwarth. 

An extensive search had been underway since early Monday for Hoellwarth in the Martinon area of the city. 

The Saint John Police Force Major Crime Unit is investigating. 

Residents and business owners, however, are being asked to carefully check their properties and report anything out of the ordinary to police. 

Anyone with information on Hoellwarth's whereabouts is asked to contact the Saint John Police Force or Crime Stoppers. 


The Saint John Police Force is asking for the public's help to locate a missing man.

54-year-old Peter Hoellwarth, from the Martinon area of the city, is described as 5'7" and around 160 pounds.

Police say he has greying, receding hair, and is bald on top.

Hoellwarth was last seen wearing dark jeans, a black t-shirt, and bluish sneakers.
