Saint John police say man arrested following liquor store thefts

The Saint John Police Force says a 19-year-old man has been arrested following liquor store thefts. 

A theft took place on June 1st at an NB liquor store uptown and the man was detained by police. 

He was issued documents requiring his attendance in court to answer to the charge of theft. 

Another theft occurred at the NB Liquor store located on Plaza Avenue on Sunday. 

Police say the man fled the store before employees could detain him and after reviewing images it was determined he was the same man from the previous theft. 

Police say they learned the man was living on the streets and was determined to continue committing "thefts to support his habits. 

He's scheduled to appear in court today to answer to the two theft charges.
