Saint John Police warn of counterfeit bills in the area
The Saint John Police Force is warning of Canadian bills printed with Chinese characters on them that translates as "prohibited for circulation".
Police say they've received five reports of the counterfeit money within the past few weeks.
Denominations of ten, twenty, fifty, and one hundred dollars have been recovered, and were made to replicate the new polymer bills.
Police say, however, that the bills are poor quality that feel like paper rather than plastic, and lack the security features.
