Saint-Quentin tractor trailer crash sends one man to hospital

A man in his 20s has been airlifted to hospital in Moncton with serious injuries following a single-vehicle crash in Saint-Quentin.

RCMP responded to the scene on Route 17 around 9:30 p.m. on Wednesday after a tractor trailer went off the road and ended up in the ditch.

Police say the Ontario man was trapped in the vehicle for a short period of time until officers and firefighters from Saint-Quentin were able to free him.

RCMP say the truck was hauling peat moss, and the cause of the crash is under investigation.

Route 17 was reduced to one lane for several hours after emergency screws arrived on scene.
