School district education council member resigns

The Anglophone West School District is looking to fill a vacant seat on its district education council.

The Daily Gleaner reports that Sheila Gallagher, who represented subdistrict 1, resigned earlier in April.

Gallagher's resignation came just one day before DEC members met to determine whether she breached its code of conduct.

Councillors determined that Gallagher did in fact breach the code, but chairwoman Kimberley Douglass did not offer details about what the breach was, or why Gallagher resigned.

It's hoped a replacement will be appointed by the province before September.
