Shediac man wanted for aggravated assault arrested in Halifax

Police say a Shediac man wanted for aggravated assault has been arrested in the Halifax area.

The RCMP say Jean-François Mallet was taken into custody by Halifax Regional Police on Monday.

The 22-year-old was wanted in connection with an incident in Trois-Ruisseaux, not far from Shediac, on March 7.

At the time, police said a woman was taken to hospital with serious injuries after being assaulted.

Mallet is scheduled to appear in court Tuesday to face several charges, including aggravated assault and breach of a probation order.
