Solar panels being installed on New Maryland Centre

The village of New Maryland is getting $15,000 in federal funding to install solar panels on the New Maryland Centre.

Fredericton MP Matt DeCourcey was on hand Friday to make the announcement on behalf of the Atlantic Canada Opportunities Agency.

ACOA says the installation of the solar panels will increase the municipality's use of clean energy.

New Maryland Mayor Judy Wilson-Shee says they are proud to have taken this initial step in assuming a leadership role in using renewable energy sources for their municipal facilities and operations.
