Spring weight restrictions for N.B. roads will soon come into effect

Spring weight restrictions for truck traffic will soon come into effect in New Brunswick.

Transportation and Infrastructure Renewal Minister Bill Fraser says the weight limits are put into place each spring to protect roads from damage during the annual frost and thaw cycle.

The weight restrictions will begin in southern New Brunswick at midnight on Sunday and will continue until midnight on May 13th.

In northern New Brunswick, the restrictions will come into effect at midnight on March 4th and continue until midnight on May 20th.

The dates are dependent upon weather conditions and are subject to change.
