Spring weight restrictions to be lifted from N.B. highways

Spring weight restrictions will soon be lifted from highways in southern New Brunswick.

The restrictions in this area are set to be removed Sunday, while weight restrictions in Northern New Brunswick will remain in place until midnight on May 20th.

Government says the restrictions are imposed on trucks each year to protect highways from damage during the spring thaw.

District engineers can close roads to trucks or impose weight restrictions on highways or sections of highways at any time to protect them.
