State funeral to honour and celebrate life of New Brunswick's lieutenant-governor

A state funeral is planned to honour and celebrate the life of New Brunswick's lieutenant-governor today.

Jocelyne Roy Vienneau died last week at the age of 63, after being treated for cancer.
A public funeral will be held in her hometown of Robertville at 11 a.m and be live streamed.

All flags at provincial government buildings have been placed at half-mast until sunset today. As well, the Canadian flag at the Peace Tower in Ottawa will remain at half-mast until the funeral..

As lieutenant-governor, she was automatically entitled to a state funeral, but it was up to her family to decide.

Roy Vienneau,  became the 31st lieutenant-governor of New Brunswick on Oct. 23, 2014.
