Tickets issued to motorists for failing to obey barricades: Saint John Police Force

The Saint John Police Force says officers wrote four tickets to motorists for failing to obey barricades on Westfield Road Tuesday.

Police are advising the public that the barricades have been put into place for their safety, adding that they were set up as the roads were deemed unsafe to pass due to flooding.

Police say when motorists disregard the barricades they run the risk of getting stuck and could put themselves at risk.

The fine for disregarding the barricades is $172.50 under the Motor Vehicle Act.
