UNB, Civilized sign MOU for cannabis research

The University of New Brunswick has announced the signing of a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with Civilized to explore research opportunities into the health impacts of cannabis.

Civilized is a media and lifestyle brand based in Saint John, whom UNB says will encourage their network of global researchers, industry leaders, and audience to support research initiatives.

Dr. David MaGee, UNB's vice-president of research, says, "Our new collaboration will facilitate communication and networking within this fast-growing sector."

The school's Health Research Chair in Cannabis is just the second position of its kind in the world, and UNB is closing in on naming someone to the role.

UNB says the MOU may also include exchanging non-confidential materials, publications and academic information, the promotion of joint research, and joint organization of meetings and workshops.
