**Updated** Bathurst man killed after UTV collides with pickup truck

Police say a 22-year-old Bathurst man has died after his utility-terrain vehicle collided with a pickup truck.

RCMP Sgt. Benoit Jolette said it happened on Sormany Road, northwest of Bathurst, just before 6 p.m. Saturday.

"It's believed that the crash occurred when the UTV collided with an oncoming pickup truck while making a sharp turn in the road," Jolette said in a news release.

Jolette said the victim, who was the driver, died at the scene, while a female passenger was taken to hospital with serious but non-life threatening injuries.

The driver of the truck was not hurt.

Jolette said the crash remains under investigation.

Though authorities have not released the man's name, messages of sympathy on social media indicate it was 22-year-old Kevin Boudreau.
