**Updated** Lincoln Bridge closed indefinitely following collision
A section of Lincoln Road (Highway 102) is closed until further notice after a dump truck struck a bridge.
RCMP Cpl. Jayson Hansen said it happened on the Lincoln Bridge – between the Fredericton International Airport and Oromocto – around 12:30 a.m. Sunday.
Hansen said the collision caused extensive damage to the truck and where the vehicle made contact with the bridge.
He said the driver was taken to hospital with undetermined injuries.
Hansen said the bridge is closed pending an engineering assessment by the Department of Transportation and Infrastructure.
A notice on DTI's website says the closure is "indefinite" and that traffic is being detoured along Nevers Road and the Trans-Canada Highway.
Jeff Hull, spokesperson with DTI, said in an emailed statement that an inspection will be conducted to determine what work is required to re-open the bridge.
There's no indication how long that inspection might take.
