**Updated** Man charged with second-degree murder after body found in N.B. field

A 34-year-old man has been charged with second-degree murder after a man was found dead in a blueberry field in northeastern New Brunswick.

RCMP Cpl. Jullie Rogers-Marsh says they received a report of two people fighting in a field off Highway 145 in Pokesudie, near Bas-Caraquet, around 12:30 p.m. Saturday.

Rogers-Marsh tells our newsroom that a 27-year-old man from Bas-Caraquet was found dead at the scene, and a second person was taken into custody.

Police say Tom Lebouthiller of Pokesudie has been charged with second-degree murder in connection with the man's death.

He has been remanded into custody and will appear in Caraquet provincial court on Tuesday.

The RCMP's Major Crime Unit is continuing to investigate.
