**Updated** Man rescued after becoming stranded on ice in Petitcodiac River

A man has been rescued after becoming stranded on a piece of ice in the Petitcodiac River.
CTV Atlantic reports police and emergency crews responded to the scene in Dieppe around 7:30 a.m. on Thursday.
The man was rescued about an hour later after he jumped from the ice floe and was brought to safety by rescue crews.
Three different fire departments were called to the scene as well as the Canadian Coast Guard, a helicopter from Halifax, and an airplane from Newfoundland and Labrador.
CTV News says he was taken to hospital with hypothermia and upper body injuries.
It remains unclear how he ended up on the floating ice.
