**Updated** Two people arrested following Woodstock shooting

**Updated at 3:38 p.m.**

A 23-year-old man and a 30-year-old woman have been arrested in connection with a shooting in Woodstock.

The Woodstock Police Force says the pair were taken into custody following the execution of a search warrant at 125 Wentworth Street on Friday, with assistance from the Fredericton City Police Forensic Identifications Unit, Fredericton City Police K9 Unit, and West District RCMP Crime Reduction Unit.

Police said earlier this week that a 23-year-old Woodstock man had been taken to the Waterville hospital with a gunshot wound to his chest.

RCMP asked for the public's help to identify a woman driving a dark coloured sedan that called and said she had dropped off a man at the facility.

In an update Friday afternoon, West District RCMP said the person of interest was identified, confirmed the shooting happened in Woodstock, and said the file had been turned over to the Woodstock Police Force.

Woodstock Police say the shooting was a targeted, as the victim and the accused were known to each other, and add that they're continuing to investigate.

Bail hearings for the two people arrested have been scheduled for Wednesday.
