Woman assaulted by man holding weapon in Moncton: RCMP
Mounties are investigating after a woman was allegedly assaulted with a weapon in Moncton.
Police say it happened near the intersection of Elmwood Drive and the Trans-Canada Highway shortly before 10 p.m. Thursday.
They say the woman was walking near the intersection when she was approached and grabbed by a man who was holding a weapon.
Police say she was forced to a nearby wooded area but managed to fight off her assailant, who fled the scene.
The suspect is described as a Caucasian man in his mid-20s to early 30s with dark hair, and was wearing a white hoodie.
