Woman sustains life-threatening injuries after car rear-ends school bus

A 22-year-old woman from Haute-Aboujagane has been transported to hospital with life-threatening injuries after her car hit the back of a school bus in Grand-Barachois.

Shediac RCMP responded to the crash on Route 130 just after 7:30 a.m. on Monday.

Police say it appears the bus was hit as it was stopped to pick up students, none of whom were hurt.

The car was pinned under the bus, and RCMP say the driver needed to be extracted from her vehicle.

The cause of the collision is still under investigation.
