28-year-old woman charged after drug seizure in Gloucester Junction

Police say a 28-year-old woman has been charged following a drug seizure at a residence in Gloucester Junction.

Officers from the Northeast District RCMP Crime Reduction Unit, as well as officers from the Bathurst Detachment along with Police Dog Services executed a search warrant at a home in Gloucester Junction on Friday at 1:00 p.m. as part of an ongoing drug investigation.

The RCMP say they seized what they believe to be methamphetamine, prescription pills and cocaine.

Police say Melanie Boucher of Gloucester Junction appeared in court on Friday and was charged with possession for the purpose of trafficking in cocaine, methamphetamine and hydromorphone.

The investigation is continuing and RCMP say Boucher has been remanded into custody pending her court appearance on Monday.
