Barbra Streisand Revealed She Cloned Her Dog...Twice!
If you are a fan of Barbra Streisand you might know that she is very obsessed with her dogs. This was proved when she performed 'Smile' on The Oprah Winfrey Show back in 2003 after her pup passed away.
In a recent interview with Variety, Barbra revealed that two of her pups are actual clones of her 14 year old pup that passed away last year. Prior to Samantha's death, cells were taken from her stomach and mouth to produce the new dogs Miss Scarlett and Miss Violet. Cloned dogs aren't the exact same dog in puppy form, they are simply genetic twins of the dog being clones but born at a later date. The appearance and itelligence are supposed to be very similar. Barbra said in her interview that she is waiting until they get a bit older to find out if they have her brown eyes and seriousness.
To clone a dog costs approximetly $50,000.
