Calgary Flames give on ice spotlight to Alberta’s Pro –Energy Ads
A notable assist was made for Alberta’s hard pressed Oil & Gas sector the other night when the Calgary Flames took on the Colorado Avalanche on Wednesday evening.
The Calgary Scotiabank Saddledome now has TWO new ad additions to the ice surface, the words “I (heart) OIL & GAS” were painted into the four corners of the rink, and two at each end of the ice. It definitely stood out to fans at Wednesday night’s game. The same campaign slogans are running for Canada Action a group who describes themselves a “volunteer-created grassroots movement” that support the natural resources sector.

“When you look at the companies and the people that are in that Saddledome and what really supports the community in Calgary, you look at all the investment into charitable organizations, community causes, schools and hospitals that come from the energy sector and I think it’s just fantastic for the #nhlflames to be supportive publicly and to be proud.” @nhlflames #yyc #calgaryism #calgaryflames #canada #canadaaction
The Calgary Flames organization is definitely here to show its support, no news on how long the ads are there to stay, but I think it’s an awesome initiative for Calgary. - @mariah.mae
