Frances McDormand's Oscar Was Stolen After Academy Awards
Everyone is talking about Frances McDormand's acceptance speech at last night's Oscars after she asked every nominated woman to stand up so people can acknowledge the work that women do in Hollywood.
After you win an oscar you head backstage to get interviewed by the press and then you get your Oscar engraved with your name. Frances McDormand had this done and headed off to the Governor's Ball to celebrate with her other celebrity friends. She put her oscar down while she was there where it was then stolen. LAPD have confirmed Terry Bryand as the man responsible and he has since been arrested.
The 47-year old was booked and has had bail set at $20,000 and will be going to court. The statue has since been returned to the best actress winner.
