This Mom Says That 'Sleeping Beauty' Is Offensive
Fairy tales are usually a positive, light story with a morale that teaches kids good lessons. However, one mother is upset with 'Sleeping Beauty'.
She claims that the kiss that wakes the princess from her sleeping spell was not consented.
If you have primary school children these types of conversations are really important. What we show and tell them is normal impacts on how they see the world. In this story we’re saying it’s okay for a stranger to kiss you when you’re asleep. Not something I want to tell my kids— katy clarkson (@katyclarkson) November 24, 2017
A lot of the internet doesn't seem to agree with this mothers opinion on the movie.

Seriously? And what about Snowwhite? Getting molested, poisoned and kissed. This has so nothing to do with the whole #metoo movement. There must be hardly any stories left to be read at your school.— Hannah Oud-Biemold (@hannakatto) November 24, 2017
Seriously it’s a fairy tale that’s all nothing sexual about it!! If you can see sexual content then I think you should seek professional help!! Are you even thinking about your boys???— Jo Berridge (@xjojomwahx) November 24, 2017
So what you're saying is that she should be asleep forever. She can't give permission to kiss her because she's asleep. in order to be able for her to give permission she must be awake. For that the prince needs to kiss her, but that's not allowed. Oh btw, it's a fairy tale.— Rene Frijhoff (@ReneFrijhoff) November 29, 2017
The way I look at it, is the kiss essentially saves the princess' life. So when it comes to CPR and mouth to mouth that also saves lives and isn't 'consented' either.
Oh, also it's a kids movie.
