Veterinarian's Warn Canadians About DEADLY Canine Virus

My heart hurts just thinking about it.

Canine Parvovirus Type 2 is a contagious illness that is affecting dogs across the country.

There's been 11 cases in Saskatchewan thus far where dogs have been euthanized due to the illness.

While the disease does not affect humans, it's important to know the virus can be transmitted through oral contact between dogs.

It's also prone to surviving on shoes, clothes and even the ground for up to a year.

Symptoms include:

  • Bloody diarrhea
  • Lethargy
  • Vomiting
  • Fever
  • Loss of appetite
  • Severe weight loss
