The Statue Of Liberty Went Dark Yesterday

Last night the Statue of Liberty went dark. All people could see was the torch. Twitter assumed it was in solidarity with the day without women protest, and they loved it.

Thank you Lady Liberty for standing with the resistance and going dark for #DayWithoutAWoman 🗽

Unfortunately, that was not the case. Apparently the power outage was caused by ongoing maintenance, but i like to think whoever pulled the plug knew exactly what they were doing.
