Drake's Security Under Fire For Blocking Traffic In T.O.
A security guard for Toronto rapper Drake was caught on camera obstructing traffic on Adelaide St. on Saturday.
YouTube user KushCam posted dashcam footage that shows a Maybach turning in front of his vehicle. Drake was reportedly in the rear seat.
"I didn't want to be stuck in the middle of the intersection when it turned red and had right of way," the driver explained in the caption.
Several black SUVs drove in the bike lane and an unidentified man steps into the middle of the lane to allow it to move into place behind the Maybach. He exchanged words with the driver whose dashcam captured the incident – at one point daring him to hit him with his Tesla.
"I felt threatened," reads the caption.
Under Ontario's Highway Traffic Act, no one but a police officer can interfere with the flow of traffic.
On social media, many people are slamming the rapper. "Do your fellow 416er's a favour & keep your motorcade out of the bike lanes if you care about this city & its ppl," wrote @judes1487. Another, @jstephens2726 asked: "Why do your bodyguards think they're above the law?"
Drake, who is living in a downtown condo while waiting for the completion of his Bridle Path mansion, has been seen attending several TIFF events.
Neither Drake nor his reps have commented on the incident.
