Guests Accuse Dr. Phil Show Of Giving Them Drugs And Alcohol
Multiple guests are accusing the Dr. Phil show of enabling their drug and alcohol addictions, in an investigation exposed by STAT.
One of the guests accusing Dr. Phil is Todd Herzog, a former Survivor winner who struggled with alcohol abuse.
Herzog claims there was a bottle of vodka in his dressing room and he was given a Xanax to "calm his nerves". He had to be carried on set and on the show it was revealed his blood alcohol content was more than three times the legal limit.
Family members of other guests say their health and welfare was put at risk by the show, claiming staff played a role in their search for drugs.
Dr. Phil hasn't commented yet, but the show's Director of Professional Affairs said the claims are "absolutely, unequivocally untrue."
