YouTube Star PewDiePie Under Fire For Racial Slur

YouTube gaming star PewDiePie, aka Felix Kjellberg, is under fire after he used the N-word during a live video gaming broadcast.

The NSFW footage was posted to Reddit on Sunday, as reported by the BBC.

In the clip, the Swedish gamer follows the racial slur with an apology and adds: “I don’t mean that in a bad way.”

Social media users were quick to voice their disapproval. The AV Club reported that one gaming developer even announced his decision to file a DMCA takedown of any PewDiePie videos featuring his game Firewatch, or any other games from its studio.

It is not an isolated incident for the YouTube personality. Disney cut ties with PewDiePie back in February after he posted a string of videos containing anti-Semitic language and messaging. In response to the company's decision, the gamer posted a controversial video in which he apologized while hitting back at the media for taking his jokes out of context.

PewDiePie, who currently has over 57 million subscribers on his YouTube channel, has yet to comment on the latest incident.
