It’s not surprising that music stars from all over the world have fallen for Canadians.
Here’s a look at some of them:
The country singer met Peterborough, Ont.-born Mike Fisher at her concert in Ottawa in 2008 — and they were engaged a year later. The Oklahoma native tied the knot with Fisher in July 2010 and built a home west of Ottawa during his stint as a Senators player. While they’re now based in Nashville, the couple often return to Ontario to spend time with Fisher’s family.
UK music icon Elton John has been with Toronto-born David Furnish since 1993. Married in December 2014, they have sons Zachary and Elijah.
The American actress-singer started dating Edmonton-born NHL player Mike Comrie in 2007 and they were married in August 2010. They divorced in 2016 but seem to have remained close and are raising son Luca together.
The Israel-born KISS rocker has been married to Newfoundland’s Shannon Tweed in 2011.
One-half of the Indigo Girls, U.S.-born Saliers married her longtime girlfriend Tristin Chipman in New York City in 2013. Chipman is an Alberta native who lived for many years in Toronto.
In 2011, Prince’s Canadian ex-wife Manuela Testolini married American R&B singer Eric Benet. The couple, who have two daughters, own a luxury condo in Toronto.
