FAQ's

1) Do I have to make a beet Borscht to compete?

No, we know there are many varieties of Borscht and all are welcome in this competition. Have a non-traditional take on Borscht? That's welcome too.

2) Where am I making this?

You will prepare your Borscht and bring the finished product to the competition on October 22 at Little Brown Jug.

 3) How do I transport it?

The onus will be on you to transport the product in a safe manner.

 4) How will it stay warm?

You are welcome to bring a slow cooker, chafing dish, or any other method to keep your entry to the temperature you like. We will provide access to power.

5) How much do I need to make?

You will need to provide approximately 175oz or 22 cups or so of product. This allows for samples for guests and spectators. We anticipate this to be a sell out event with a crowd cap of 50.

 6) Can I enter as a team?

Sure, you can have a couple of people representing the same recipe.

 7) Do I have to be there in person on October 22 from 1-3pm?

 Yes.

8) Do I need to provide any utensils or garnish?

We will supply sample cups for attendees and all napkins and utensils. We will also supply rye bread and sour cream on site.

 9) How many people am I competing against?

We have a cap on competitor numbers. Competitors who submit the form on this page will be contacted on a first come, first serve basis until all spots are full. You will receive an email which will confirm your spot.

10) Can I bring friends and family to cheer me on?

Of course! Tickets are on sale now for anyone who'd like to partake in the fun.

11) Who are the judges?

They will be announced shortly.
