Surviving Rush Members Thank Fans For 'Outpouring Of Love'

The surviving members of Rush thanked fans this past weekend for their support following the death of drummer Neil Peart on Jan. 7.

“Our most heartfelt thanks go out to family, friends, musicians, writers and fans from around the globe for the incredible outpouring of love and respect for Neil since his passing,” read a statement from Geddy Lee and Alex Lifeson on Instagram.

“These touching tributes help to lessen the pain of this terrible loss and remind us all to celebrate his remarkable life and our connections to it.”

Rush has seen a whopping 2,000 percent increase in album sales since it was announced that Peart lost his three-year battle with brain cancer. According to Nielsen Music data, streaming of the band’s music has increased 776 percent.

Fans have also wanted to read Peart’s words since his death. Billboard reported last week that Rush held 23 of the 25 spots on the LyricFind Global Chart, with “Tom Sawyer” at No. 1.
