A Tribute: In Loving Memory of Joey Moss
Joey Moss, an Edmonton hero, icon, and friend passed away yesterday at the age of 57.
Moss was the locker room attendant for the Edmonton Oilers and Edmonton Football Team for decades, but as you can see by tributes that poured in...he was SO much more than that.
Janet & I are saddened to learn about the passing of Joey Moss. Not only was Joey a fixture in the Edmonton dressing room, he was someone I truly considered a friend. We will miss you Joey and you will always live on through our memories. Our thoughts are with Joey’s loved ones. pic.twitter.com/5ucUQhcWQp— Wayne Gretzky Estates (@GretzkyEstates) October 27, 2020
Incredibly sad hearing the news of Joey Moss passing. What an incredibly human Joey was, I am very grateful that I was able to spend the time I did with "My Friend". I will think about Joey, talk about Joey and tell Joey stories for the rest of my life. We will miss you Joey Moss— Ryan King (@ryanking46) October 27, 2020
Joey Moss lifted my spirits every time I entered our facilities at Rexall Arena in Edmonton. He was kind, funny, intelligent, and above all else, loyal. The big guy will be missed by many. pic.twitter.com/Ic1v3XzjoM— Luke Gazdic (@lukegazdic) October 27, 2020

#joeymoss was a fixture in our neighbourhood street hockey games. Here's a picture from Feb 1982 when Joey brought his friend Wayne to play with us for 4 hours. Joey was just really cool and we all loved him.— Rob Kerr (@CSECRKerr) October 27, 2020
Godspeed Joey we won't forget you. #Legend #ASHOF pic.twitter.com/hvcNDKjo8M
You know why so many Albertans know of #JoeyMoss? Because he had opportunity to belong and be included. Remember that. Inclusion always matters. #Disability #DownSyndrome #Yeg #Yyc #Ableg #RIPJoey 🏒 🏈 pic.twitter.com/8prP4GCCgM— ⚖️Leah (@IsNoPrincess) October 27, 2020
The family is asking that in lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Winnifred Steward Foundation.
Rest in Peace Joey. We will never forget you.
