Accidental Spill Causes Wine To Flow Through Village's Water Pipes
Is this the best mistake ever? A dream come true!
Residents of a small village in Italy say that the taps in their homes were dispensing some sort of red liquid instead of water last week.
Many people in Settecani described the smell like Lambrusco Grasparossa, a locally made wine.
Winery officials said that after technicians investigated, they found a techincal fault had actually caused wine to leak from one of the silo's into the water pipes. The pressure from the leak was actually enough to cut into the water in the pipes, thus causing the water supply contamination.
The issue was eventually fixed and fresh water was once again running normally through the pipes. Apparently some residents bottled as much wine as they could before the water turned back to normal.
