Nashville Elementary School Pulling All Harry Potter Books
And the reason comes down to 'curses and spells.'
A Catholic school in Nashville has now removed all Harry Potter books from the library after consultations with exorcists, who believe that the book series contains, "actual curses and spells” that could conjure demonic entities. (via New York Post)
Rev. Dan Reehil, a pastor at St. Edward Catholic School, explained in an email his decision to ban the books:
“These books present magic as both good and evil, which is not true, but in fact a clever deception. The curses and spells used in the books are actual curses and spells; which when read by a human being risk conjuring evil spirits into the presence of the person reading the text.”
Reehill claims that after consulting with several exorcists in the U.S. and Rome who recommended removing the books.
