Parents Put On 'Common Sense' Camp For Their Kids
Since Summer Camp won't be a thing this summer, these parents decided to put on their own!
Planning a summer at home with their children, Paul and Oona Hanson decided to make their running joke of a basic, but necessary skills camp a reality!
This summer, their 2 children aged 17 and 12 wil be learning life skills from Mom and Dad at 'Common Sense Camp'
I'm hearing from parents who want support with doing their own version of Common Sense Camp. I'm putting together materials and will share updates soon. The Hanson's are planning to focus on advice from book "How to Be a Person: 65 Hugely Useful, Super-Important Skills to Learn Before You've Grown Up"
They have 8 themed weeks planned with a different focus each week including: 'kitchen confidence,' 'safety and emergency preparedness,' 'social skills,' and 'anti-racism.'
Mom and Dad reportedly also have some fun, camp-like experiences for the kids as well like making friendship bracelets and s'mores and plan to commemorate the event with Camp t-shirts!
