The Tri-County-area reported three more cases of COVID-19 on Thursday marking 10 cases now confirmed in the region this week.

Of the ten active cases in the region as of Friday morning, no patients are in hospital.

Ontario reported 783 new cases on Thursday and five new deaths related to the virus, while also reporting 779 recoveries. It also reported its highest number of tests performed in several days, just shy of 40,000.

The testing increase pushed the province’s positivity rate below two per cent for the first time in several days, as officials have said more people are testing positive in Ontario and restrictions are being considered outside the current hotspots of Ottawa, Toronto and Peel Region.
