Brockville Boy Grows Locks and Funds For Charity

One Brockville boy has a hair raising proposition.

After growing out his hair for two years, 9-year-old Brodyn "Bo" McAnerin is getting ready to shave it all off in the name of charity in Kingston on Saturday.

Brodyn says he'll be giving it to Make A Wish of Eastern Ontario, and they'll make it into real-hair wigs for kids who are facing medical hair loss.

He says he was inspired to do it when he got sick and ended up at the Sick Kids Hospital in Toronto.

"When I went to have surgery, and saw all the kids who had cancer."

He isn’t only growing his hair, he’s trying to grow his fundraising total for Make A Wish of Eastern Ontario. When he set it up he said he planned to raise $150.

So far his page has raised over $1,500.

"It feels really good," said Bo on The Bruce Wylie Show with Kimberley Johnson.

Bo, who plays for the Rideau St. Lawrence Kings, will be at the Brockville Braves game tonight. They'll be giving him a booth so he can collect donations for his cause. Puck drop is at 7:30 at the Memorial Centre.
