Anthony Di Monte, Ottawa’s GM of Emergency and Protective Services, feels optimistic when it comes to dishing out second doses of COVID vaccines. In a conversation with Kristy Cameron on Thursday, he says our city could deliver second doses to everybody who needs one for the beginning of August. Of course, that number depends on vaccine supply. Meantime, our COVID-19 case counts are dropping sharply, and the province’s latest modelling numbers are trending in a positive direction. That good news comes with an asterisk, as the Delta variant could force us into a fourth wave if we aren’t careful. Dr. Raywat Deonandan is an Epidemiologist and Science Communicator at the University of Ottawa. In today’s edition of CFRA Live with Andrew Pinsent, he outlines four steps that we need to follow in order to avoid another significant COVID surge.
