Ottawa Public Health recorded 429 new cases of COVID-19 on Friday. Our city is currently treating 3,777 active cases, 82 hospitalizations, and 10 ICU patients heading into this weekend. The Ford government has already given schools the green light to resume in-person learning. On January 31, businesses will be given permission to operate at 50 percent capacity. And while Canada’s top doctor says we might have reached the peak of Omicron, hospitalization levels are still high. Where do we stand in the pandemic picture right now?
