Owen Healey's late grandfather gifted him an electronic chess board, creating a burgeoning relationship to the game. Years later, during the pandemic, Owen's focus on chess accelerated and he rapidly became extremely skilled.

Looking for a challenge, Owen arranged to take on 10 of his teachers at St. Michael's Catholic High School in Kemptville in what's called a "simul" -- he played all 10 teachers in chess matches all at once. And he won every game.

Owen joins Patricia Boal to talk about what that experience was like, how he got started, had where he could go from here.
