As of July 5, fully-vaccinated Canadians returning from abroad will no longer have to quarantine at home or in a hotel. The new rules, announced by the federal government Monday, only apply to Canadians and won’t lead to a reopening of the Canada-US land border before July 21. New York Congressman Brian Higgins, who’s been calling for a full reopening of the land border, says this isn’t enough and he hopes to see an action plan for when Americans can drive to Canada again. Higgins joins Kristy Cameron on today’s Ottawa Now.
