An empty and boarded-up building in Old Ottawa South will finally be torn down after the city issued a demolition permit this week. The property on Bank Street, once home to West Coast Video, was gutted by a fire in 2009 and has been sitting vacant ever since. As part of his 2014 municipal election campaign, Capital Ward councillor Shawn Menard promised to make progress on this matter. He joins Kristy Cameron on today’s Ottawa Now.
