Ottawa Now – As loneliness nears ‘global epidemic’ status, WHO issues dire warning


A dire warning has been issued by the World Health Organization. Not only is loneliness on the way up, it could soon reach ‘global epidemic’ status. This could lead to higher rates of dementia, heart disease, stroke, and even premature death. Kristy Cameron is joined by Julie Aitken Schermer, a Psychology professor who studies loneliness at the University of Western Ontario.
